CII bid to farm talent through contest

Our Bureau

Hyderabad, Aug. 22

The Confederation of Indian Industry (Southern Region) in partnership with technology firms is seeking to farm engineering talent and help career-seekers to come together on a common platform through a contest.

iTalent is third such event being hosted by the CII in the South, where students from engineering college and those pursuing studies in related fields converge and are encouraged to take part in a contest.

In the process, these participants get a chance to interact with some of the technology companies and may even get letters of offer for job depending on their talent and capability.

The Steering Committee member of iTalent and Head of HR at Alcatel Development India, Mr David Nallathambi, said each team will have 2-3 students and each college can send in four teams. They have to come up with technology projects proposals and the best among them get selected.

Three most meritorious students will win cash awards worth Rs. 75,000, Rs 50,000 and Rs.25,000 respectively.
