BIS hallmarked gold jewellery

Kochi, Aug 22

The Bureau of Indian Standards has given a licence for selling the BIS hallmarked gold jewellery to 300 jewellers in Kerala. Consumers can purchase Hallmarked jewellery from any of these shops. While purchasing hallmarked jewellery, consumers should look for the BIS logo and all the other hall mark components to ensure the genuineness of the jewellery. To facilitate the verification, licensed jewellers have been asked to provide magnifying glass in their shops. Hallmarking details and the list of the BIS-certified jewellers can be obtained from the Office of the BIS in Thiruvananthapuram. The details are also available in the BIS Web site www.bis.org.in. - Our Bureau
