United Spirits seeks more time for AGM

Bangalore, Aug. 22 United Spirits has informed the Bombay Stock Exchange that it has taken permission from the Registrar of Companies, Karnataka, for extension of time up to November 30, 2007 for holding the annual general meeting of the company.

In a notice to the BSE, the company said it has taken various steps recently to further consolidate and expand its spirits business. These included amalgamation of eight companies with itself, demerger of investment business, acquisition of Bouvet Ladubay in France and in May , the acquisition of Whyte and Mackay Ltd, a Glasgow-based scotch distiller.
