Chemical disaster mock drill

Visakhapatnam, Aug. 23

The first chemical disaster mock drill was conducted here on Thursday at Coromandel Fertilisers and Andhra Petro Chemicals Ltd to assess the emergency preparedness in both the units in the event of toxic and inflammable substances. The drill was conducted in the industrial cluster near Malkapuram. The scenarios were the possible rupture of the propelyne pipeline between HPCL and Andhra Petro Chemicals Ltd, leading to a vapour cloud explosion and jet line, sulphur dioxide g as emission and other such mishaps.
