Personal Products Gillette India net at Rs 43 cr for June quarter
Our Bureau Mumbai, Aug. 24 Gillette India Ltd recorded a net profit of Rs 43 crore for the quarter ended June 30, against Rs 5.9 crore for the same period last year. The net profit is after a one-time gain of Rs 42 crore from sale of fixed assets. According to a notice to the BSE, the company said that its net profit for the corresponding quarter of the previous fiscal was at Rs 5.9 crore as the restructuring expense of Rs 25.8 crore was debited to Profit & Loss account under ‘exceptional item.’ Gross sales for the quarter ended June 30, increased by 6.5 per cent to Rs 158 crore (Rs 148 crore). The total expenditure increased by 15 per cent to Rs 124 crore (Rs 107.6 crore). The operating profit fell by 17 per cent to Rs 33 crore. The company’s net profit for the 18- month fiscal ended June 30, was at Rs 142 crore and the total income for the same period was Rs 716 crore.
