Education QAI sets up software testing institute
Our Bureau Bangalore, Aug. 24 Soon industry relevant certifications for software testing will be offered in your university. Consultancy firm QAI has announced an independent industry-academia initiative Edista Testing Institute. Set up here with an investment of Rs 5 crore, the institute will be associated with universities and finishing schools. Shifting its focus from corporate houses to educational institutes, Edista will take 45 courses to other countries too – Malaysia, Dubai, China and then onto Europe, said its CEO, Mr Pradeep Chennavajhula. QAI has invested Rs 4 crore and will invest an equal amount over the next couple of years in sales, marketing and brand building on online property, said Mr Navyug Mohnot, Chief Executive Officer, QAI India. Software testing services is growing at 50 per cent per annum, compared to 10-12 per cent growth of software services. The global market for testing is growing at 20 per cent. According to IDC, the Indian testing industry must add 18,000 test professionals by 2008 to maintain growth.
