Mulitex buying stake in Effort BPO

Mumbai, Aug. 25

Hong Kong-based Mulitex Holdings is set to acquire a 10 per cent equity stake in Mumbai-based Effort BPO Ltd. Mulitex is said to be paying around $2 million (Rs 8.2 crore) for picking up the stake. Effort BPO is focused on the Indian and Chinese domestic markets. Recently, it had formulated a joint venture firm with the China-based Asia Star and Triple Three (part of Mulitex group) to establish a call centre in China. Mulitex is in the process of setting up an investment b ranch in Mumbai and is looking at tapping the BPO market in India. The company has interests in garments, trading, information technology, electronics and real estate. —
