Education IPE offers course in retail management
Our Bureau Hyderabad, Aug. 25 With the retail sector poised to take off and manpower shortages already staring in its face, the scope for recognised courses to train people is welcome. The All-India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) has taken a decision to address the issue. It has sanctioned a two-year, full time, post-graduate programme to the Hyderabad-based Institute of Public Enterprise (IPE). The IPE will now offer a post-graduate diploma in marketing and retail management from the current academic year (2007-08). The Director, IPE, Dr R.K. Mishra, said that the course sanction comes in recognition of its expertise in the area of management and in particular marketing and retailing. The IPE, which offers a range of MBA and management courses (including for in-service executives) and does consultancy and research projects, proposes to start the course in October.
