Hyderabad, Aug. 27

Critical infrastructure of Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) in Andhra Pradesh seems to be under increased threat of getting tampered.

Pilferage and theft attempts on its pipelines carrying oil and gas, pressure valves, production installations, equipment have come to the notice of the ONGC management.

In view of the potential problems, ONGC has appealed for vigil against such oil theft and pilferage attempts, according to a press release from its Rajahmundry Operations office.

Police and district administration have also brought a few such attempts to the notice of the company recently. The security wing of ONGC has also found that holes had been made in the pipelines for stealing oil.
