Golden Chariot service from Nov

Golden Chariot, the luxury train that will criss-cross Karnataka, will be operational from the first week of November. Announcing the launch date of the Rs 40-crore project, which is a joint venture between the Karnataka State Tourism Development Corporation, and the Indian Railways, Mr I.M. Vittala Murthy, Secretary, Kannada, Culture, Information and Tourism Department, Government of Karnataka, said that the trail run would be conducted in the last week of October. The six-day-seven-night journey, priced at about $300 (Rs 12,300) per night per passenger, will begin from Bangalore and cover Mysore, Srirangapatna, Kabini Wildlife Sanctuary, Belur, Halebid, Shravanabelagola, Hampi, Aihole, Badami, Pattadakal and Goa; it will culminate in Bangalore. —
