Rlys to spend Rs 11 cr on water recycling plants

New Delhi, Aug 31 The Railways plans to spend almost Rs 11 crore set up water recycling plants at several locations including New Delhi, Bangalore, Jabalpur and Katni.

Replying to a question in Lok Sabha here, the Minister of State for Railways, Mr R. Velu, has stated: One water recycling plant each is proposed to be installed at Jabalpur (20 lakh litre/day), Katni (15 lakh litre/day), Satna (10 lakh litre/day), Bhopal (10 lakh litre/day), Itarsi (08 lakh litre/day), Udaipur (2.4 lakh litre/day), Jodhpur (1.5 litre/day), Puri (05 lakh litre/day), Waltair (10 lakh litre/day), New Delhi (under finalisation), Secunderabad (05 lakh litre/day), Hubli (1.8 lakh litre/day), Bangalore (10 lakh litre/day), Yashwantpur (4 lakh litre/day) and Mysore (3 lakh litre/day).

The expenditure likely to be incurred on installation of water recycling plants (WRP) at these locations is Rs 10.81 crore, excluding the one at New Delhi, which is under finalisation, he stated.
