Our Bureau

Thiruvananthapuram, Aug. 31 The Kerala Government has urged domestic and international airlines to operate more flights to the State.

Addressing a meeting of airline representatives and Government officials, Chief Minister Mr V.S. Achuthanandan said that airlines should operate more flights connecting Thiruvananthapuram and Kochi with cities such as New Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, Chennai and Hyderabad.

Similarly, international airlines should operate services linking either Kochi or Thiruvananthapuram with destinations in Europe and the US, he added.

The State Government will look into the possibility of setting up a separate terminal for budget airlines in Kochi.

Similarly, the Government is also considering the possibility of e-ticketing for airlines using the Akshaya e-centres network.
