Bangalore, Aug 31

A State-wide Rural IT Quiz was launched on Friday by the Department of IT, BT and S&T, in partnership with STPI-Bangalore and TCS, to create awareness of IT across the State, especially in rural areas. The finals will be held at BangaloreIT.in 2007, to be held from October 29 to November 1. In 2006, over 9.55 lakh students took part in the quiz. This year, the target is about 20 lakh students. On September 24, science popularisation programmes would be organised in all districts to inculcate scientific temper and aptitude for basic science among students.
