Oil cos to cut aviation fuel prices

New Delhi, Aug. 31

State-owned oil marketing companies have decided to cut aviation turbine fuel (ATF) prices by Rs 896-978 per kl for September, Indian Oil Corporation Ltd said. Aviation fuel prices are revised at the beginning of every month based on the average international price in the previous month. Aviation fuel comprises 30-35 per cent of airlines' total operational cost. In Delhi, aviation fuel for domestic airlines will now cost Rs 38,163.23 per kl against Rs 39,059.45 in August. The cost in Chennai has been reduced to Rs 41,595.26 from Rs 42,572.67 per kl in August. In Kolkata and Mumbai the cost has been reduced by Rs 947 per kl to Rs 43,886.99 and Rs 39,441.30, respectively. - Our Bureau
