Rourkela-Jharsuguda track breach

For over a week, the train services on the Rourkela-Jharsuguda section of the South Eastern Railway remained suspended due to breach on the Railway track, causing enormous difficulties for the Railways as well as the passengers. The freight movement on the route was virtually thrown out of gear. For about five days there was no movement at all and from the sixth day there was limited movement of only passengers’ trains . There were cancellations and diversions of tra ins, causing lots of problems for the Railways as well as the passengers. After all, the affected stretch was on one of the busiest routes, in terms of movement of both passengers and freight, of the Indian Railways. This situation has left many people wondering why the repairs took so much time while there is no dearth of men and materials in the Railways
