Our Bureau

Mumbai, Sept. 2 Air India’s Mumbai to New York non-stop flight scheduled to depart on September 2 at 00.40 hours was rescheduled to 23.30 hours due to technical reasons. According to a statement from the national carrier on Sunday, “The altimeter of the aircraft was not functioning and AI is in talks with Boeing to rectify this. However, due to crew flight duty norms, the aircraft can only depart at 23.30 hours.”

When contacted, official spokesperson for Air India said, “The airline has made arrangements on full board basis for all the 210 passengers in different hotels near the airport.”

Air India started its non-stop flight to the US on August 1 using the brand new Boeing 777-200 LR aircraft.
