Credit Market States - Karnataka Educational loans worth Rs 1.54 cr sanctioned
Our Bureau Mangalore, Sept. 3 As many as 87 students were given sanction letters for loans at an educational loan camp conducted by the lead bank of Dakshina Kannada district (Syndicate Bank) in Mangalore on Monday. Other major banks such as State Bank of India, State Bank of Mysore, Karnataka Bank Ltd, Corporation Bank, Canara Bank and Vijaya Bank participated in the camp. Mr Udaya Kumar Holla, Lead District Manager, Syndicate Bank, told Business Line that queries came from 220 students at the camp. Of them, sanction letters have been given to 87 students. The total amount of educational loans sanctio ned is estimated at Rs 1.54 crore. There was a good demand for engineering stream for educational loans. Earlier, inaugurating the educational loan camp, Mr K.U. Shanbhag, Deputy General Manager of Syndicate Bank, Mangalore, urged the students to make use of the educational loan facility. He said that Dakshina Kannada district will be announced as 100 per cent financially included district soon. Senior officials of the major banks were present at the camp.
