M&M August sales rise 30%

Mahindra & Mahindra has clocked total vehicle sales of 18,269 in August, including exports, against 14,032 units over the corresponding month last year, a growth of 30.2 per cent . It clocked total vehicles sales of 17,438 units in the domestic market against 12,981 units in the corresponding month last fiscal, a growth of over 34.3 per cent.

Mahindra Renault Logan registered a sales figure of 2,252 units in August. Since its launch in April, the car has sold a total of 10,309 units.

It sold 2,890 units in July, 2,389 units in June and in May, the first full month of sales, the Logan clocked 2,786 units.

Tractor sales

M&M’s farm equipment sector saw a 10 per cent rise in tractor exports, which stood at 561 units in August compared with 509 units in the corresponding month last year. Domestic sales grew by 4 per cent at 6,011 units in August compared with 5,801 units in the corresponding month last year.

The total sales volume for the month, including exports, stood at 6,572, against 6,310 units in the financial year 2007, a rise of 4 per cent.
