BHEL in pact for power plant export

Our Bureau

New Delhi, Sept. 3 Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd (BHEL) has entered into a pact with trading house MMTC Ltd to jointly work towards increasing exports of power plant equipment from India.

As per the memorandum of understanding signed by the two State-owned companies, MMTC would promote BHEL equipment by using its bulk buying leverage wherever possible in overseas markets, a BHEL statement said.

It also addresses the issue of energy security by linking import of fuels such as coal with the export of power projects.

The MoU was signed between the BHEL Chairman and Managing Director, Mr Ashok K. Puri, and MMTC Chairman and Managing Director, Mr Sanjiv Batra, here on Monday.
