R.R. Donnelley opens new centre

Thiruvananthapuram, Sept. 3

R.R. Donnelley & Sons Company has opened a new business process outsourcing (BPO) facility in Thiruvananthapuram. Located in the Technopark Thiruvananthapuram, the facility, which is the company’s second in the city, covers an area of over 40,000 square feet and can accommodate around 1,000 employees. This facility will provide transaction processing and financial management services to clients in Europe and the US. The company has around 500 employees at its exi sting facility in Thiruvananthapuram and another 4,500 or so in Chennai, said Mr Kiran Shankar, Managing Director and Head, R. R. Donnelley Global BPO-Asia Operations. While declining to reveal details of future expansion plans, he told Bu siness Line that the company is excited about growth possibilities. In India, the company would consider expansion to other cities based on the requirements of its clients and the availability of talent. According to Mr Shankar, the company would continue to focus on the non-voice BPO segment. —
