TISS plans AP campus

Hyderabad, Sept. 4 The Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS) will set up its campus at Vikarabad in Ranga Reddy district near here.

A decision to this effect was taken at a meeting of TISS representatives with the Chief Minister, Dr Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy, here on Tuesday, according to a release.

The TISS currently has campuses in Mumbai and Tuljapur in Osmanabad district of Maharashtra. It offers Masters, M.Phil and Ph.D. programmes in social work, development studies, education (elementary), media and cultural studies, health administration, human resource management and labour relations, social entrepreneurship, globalisation and labour and disaster management.

The presence of many institutions involved in interdisciplinary teaching and research influenced TISS decision to set up its campus near Hyderabad, the release added.
