Workshop on soil health

Our Bureau

Hyderabad, Sept. 5 The Andhra Pradesh Government has been spending Rs 1,000 on an average on every hectare (aggregating all Governmental support). “But it is spending only Rs 196 a hectare on extension, which is vital for grooming farmers,” said Mr Ajeya Kallam, Principal Secretary (Agriculture). He was addressing a workshop on ‘Soil health and customised fertilisers’ here.

He said the State Government would support customised fertilisers if results were good.

About 130 experts from the fertiliser industry, agriculture universities and Government took part in the workshop that was organised by the Fertiliser Association of India.
