NIIT signs pact with Chinese Govt dept

New Delhi, Sept. 6 IT major NIIT has entered into an agreement with ChongQing Information Industry Bureau (CQIIB) to build human capital infrastructure for the emerging knowledge economy. CQIIB is a Chinese government department responsible for growth and development of information industry in ChongQing.

As per the agreement, NIIT would offer its training programmes through universities and colleges in ChongQing. It would offer training programmes in the areas of software engineering, application, network administration and management, and game design to create a skilled manpower pool for the IT industry, a company statement said.

A memorandum of understanding was signed this week between Mr Vijay K. Thadani, NIIT CEO, and Mr Wang Yang, Secretary-General of the Communist Party of ChongQing.

NIIT would also train and certify the faculty at the institutions in ChongQing. As part of the agreement, NIIT and CQIIB would work together to train the workforce in IT and non-IT companies in ChongQing.
