Ahmedabad, Sept 6 The London Chamber of Commerce & Industry (LCCI) International Qualifications, one of the world’s largest providers of business-related vocational qualifications, has opened its first examination centre in Gujarat at Surat. This centre will facilitate interaction between LCCI-IQ and the students of south Gujarat for registration for respective certificates and diploma of LCCI.

Now, students and working people who aspire to develop skill for career development or higher study in respective faculties abroad can choose this examination centre with or without coaching, a release said here.

Announcing the launch at Surat on Thursday, Mr Mohan Kumar Giri, Country Head, LCCI IQ, said these qualifications provide the missing link of business, that is vocational skills enhancements to supplement mainstream theoretical education to cater to the requirement of industry which has a very high share of international business.

Certificates

LCCI IQ offers more than 80 certificates and diplomas in various faculties such as accounting, administration, information technology, sales and marketing, financial management and English of business at different levels.

From its creation in 1881, the LCCI recognised the need for improved commercial and technical secondary education alongside advanced foreign language courses.

The changing structure of industry and employment in the UK and across Europe had increased the need formembers of staff to develop clerical and commercial skills.

In response to this demand, LCCI designed a series of vocational qualifications to assess candidates’ abilities. The first LCCI examinations were held in year 1887. Today, the LCCI IQ is one of the world’s largest providers of business-related vocational qualifications in 120 countries and regarded globally as a mark of the highest standard.

Universities too, recognise LCCI’s Certificates and Diplomas for admission into their degree programs. LCCI has over 10,000 centeres worldwide and takes over 5,00,000 examination entries every year.
