Thiruvananthapuram, Sept. 9 The State Government-owned Kerala Tourism Development Corporation (KTDC) is launching a budget hotel brand.

The company’s budget brand Tamarind Easy Hotelswill provide guests with modern facilities at affordable rates, said a company official.

Creating a separate budget hotel brand is part of the company’s efforts to improve its offering, he added.

Initially, eight budget properties operated by KTDC under the ‘Yatri Nivas’ name will be upgraded and brought under the brand, said the company official.

These include properties in Kannur, Thrissur, Mannarkad, Guruvayur, Alappuzha, Changanacherry and Kollam.

In addition to these eight properties, the company is also setting up seven new budget hotels in locations across Kerala.

These new properties will also be operated under the ‘Tamarind Easy Hotels’ brand.
