Air India Express launches more flights from Tiruchi to Singapore


While three flights were being added to Singapore with the deployment of another Boeing 737-800 aircraft, the existing Singapore-Tiruchi flights will be operated back to Singapore on three other week days.

Tiruchi, Sept. 10 Budget airline, Air India Express has launched six additional flights a week to Singapore from Tiruchi.

The airline isoperating three flights a week each on the Tiruchi-Singapore and Tiruchi-Dubai sectors.

The Tiruchi Airport Director, Mr S Sreekumar flagged off the first additional flight, ex-Tiruchi, on the Singapore-Tiruchi-Chennai-Singapore here on Monday in the presence of Air India’s District Sales Manager S.Kannan.

With this the total number of AI Express flights on the Tiruchi-Singapore sector will go up to nine a week. While three flights were being added to Singapore with the deployment of another Boeing 737-800 aircraft, the existing Singapore-Tiruchi flights will be operated back to Singapore on three other week days. With the additional flights, Tiruchi will have air services to Singapore six days a week, except Sundays.

The additional flights will be operated on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays making it two flights to Singapore from here on these three days. The Singapore-Tiruchi-Chennai-Singapore flight will arrive at Tiruchi at 11.20 am and leave for Singapore at 12.20 pm, on all the three days.

The Singapore-Tiruchi flights, which are being extended back to Singapore, will operate to the same timings on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. The Dubai-Tiruchi-Chennai-Singapore night flights will continue to operate on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. Mr.Kannan said the airline is likely to operate to more international destinations, including Abu Dhabi, from Tiruchi once the infrastructure of the airport was strengthened.
