Emirates launching direct Ahmedabad-Dubai service

Ahmedabad, Sept. 10 Emirate Airlines will launch Ahmedabad-Dubai direct flight from October 28, its senior officials said here today.

There will be six flights per week on the route. The flight will depart Ahmedabad at 4.25 a.m. on all days except Wednesdays and arrive in Dubai at 6.10 a.m.

It will depart Dubai at 10.55 p.m. on all days except Tuesdays and arrive in Ahmedabad at 3.10 a.m.

Emirates will operate modern jets such as Airbus A330-200 and Boeing 777-200 with personal entertainment systems in all classes.

Introductory offer

For the proposed service, the airlines has introduced a special introductory fare of Rs 14,995 on economy class and Rs 34,995 on business class for one-way non-stop flight, Mr Salem Obaidallah, Vice-President (Commercial Operations-West Asia and Indian Ocean), and Mr Orhan Abbas, Vice-President (India and Nepal), told reporters here. The offer is valid till December 15. The airlines is also opening sales and executive offices in Ahmedabad.

Ahmedabad is the airlines’ ninth Indian and 95th global destination and its fourth new route in 2007, after Venice, New Castle and Sao Paolo. The Dubai-based carrier, which is expanding its services, will launch services to Toronto (October 29) and Houston (December 3), they added.

Those wishing to work on board will benefit from the personal satellite telephone and provision to send and receive email and SMS from each seat, as well as laptop recharging facilities.

The flight is also offering 100 tonnes of cargo movement per week from Ahmedabad.
