APOnline in partnership with HDFC for payments

Hyderabad, Sept. 10 APOnline, the digital portal of the Government of Andhra Pradesh, has tied up with HDFC Bank to launch Direct Debit service that facilitates online payment of bills.

This partnership will add a new dimension of convenience to the rising number of APOnline users and the millions of the bank’s customers.

Mr S.K. Joshi, Secretary-Information and Communication, Government of Andhra Pradesh, who launched the service today, in a statement said, “The AP Government is determined to add convenience to the lives of citizens by fully exploiting the potential of Internet. Today’s launch of Direct Debit service ensures a convenient and secure means of bill payments on APOnline.”

With this facility, HDFC Bank account holders can log on and register on APOnline, select the bills to be paid and pay them instantly through their bank accounts, at any time of the day.

Currently, they can pay water, electricity, property tax and telephone bills through APOnline. The Web site ensures security of all online transactions.

Mr Prashanth Reddy, Chief Operating Officer, APOnline Ltd, said, “the latest initiative is in line with the core objectives of APOnline to bring the State closer to the citizen.

The gateway provided by HDFC Bank would encourage citizens to confidently opt for the online payment mode. We will continue to seek opportunities to expand the reach of APOnline and increase the portfolio of services available on the portal.”

APOnline is a joint venture between the State Government and Tata Consultancy Services.

It has 250 franchises in the twin cities and supports more than 1,000 franchises across the state with a presence in almost every mandal.
