New Products & Services Ganjam keen on entering Japan, Europe Our Bureau Bangalore, Sept. 12 Bangalore-based jewellery retailer Ganjam is keen to make headway into Japan and Europe. While it is looking to set up boutique stores in London and Milan, in Japan it is in talks with luxury multi-brand retail chains such as Takashimaya, Mitsukoshi and Hanasina. Ganjam has been doing test marketing and brand promotion in these international markets for a few years now. Speaking at the launch of ‘Fire and Ice’ — Ganjam’s latest collection featuring Tahitian pearls — in the city, Mr Kumar Ganjam, Director, Ganjam, said: “In London and Milan, we have been doing road shows for three years and the response has been good. In Japan, for the last five years we have already been working with designer Kazou Ogawa, who does jewellery shows across Japan. And the Ganjam brand has been featured in them.” Boutique StoresGanjam realises that Japan and Europe are difficult markets to make inroads into and is banking on its “rich history and unique products” to make an impression. Ganjam has one flagship store in Bangalore, and two boutique stores (stores in luxury hotels) in Bangalore and Mumbai each. It is looking to open one more boutique store in Delhi by mid-2008.
