Singapore Airlines adds two flights

Singapore Airlines has launched two more flights between Chennai and Singapore taking the total number of flights between the destinations to ten, a press release said. The airline will now fly three morning flights (every Sunday, Wednesday and Friday) and seven night flights (one each day of the week) from Chennai to Singapore.

Flights will leave Chennai at 10 a.m. (Indian time) and land in Singapore by 4.40 p.m. (Singapore time). Those leaving Singapore (at 7.15 a.m. Singapore time) would reach Chennai by 8.40 a.m. (Indian time).

The airline will also launch a new South Indian menu as part of its in-flight meal from October 28.

Boeing 777-200 aircraft would be used for the new service with each aircraft offering 30 business class and 293 economy class seats.

The airline will shift to a three-class configuration (12 first class, 42 business class and 234 economy class seats) from October, the release said. Singapore Airlines has also announced discounted airfare on economy class seats, ranging between 21 per cent and 67 per cent, to select destinations in Australia, Korea, Malaysia, Japan, China, Singapore and Hong Kong.

Discounted fares do not include taxes and surcharges and booking is open from now until October 15.

Out-bound travel is valid till November 30, the release said.
