Sahara unveils Paradiso brand

New Delhi, Sept. 13 Sahara India Pariwar on Wednesday launched Paradiso, a new brand to market luxurious holiday packages for affluent Indians.

Paradiso offers a spectrum of holiday options including hiring Sir Richard Branson’s Necker Island resort at a cost $46,000 per night to packages that start at $360 per night.

Among the 165 options being offered at the moment include travel by what is regarded as one of the world’s most luxurious train, the Blue Train in South Africa, or a drive in a Ferrari car while experiencing Italian gastronomical and fashion delights as part of the Red Travel Ferrari tour of Italy.

Luxury travel

Addressing a press conference, the Chief Executive Officer, Mr Romi Datta, said that the new product was India’s answer to luxury travel. “The new product is to cater to the need of the Indian millionaires. The number of Indians with liquid wealth in excess of $1,00,000 is set to cross the 1.1 million mark by 2010 up from around 7 lakh at present. We plan to have offices in the major metros to market the product,” Mr Datta said.

Hire offers

The new company will also offer private jets and luxury yachts on hire, apart from offering stays in villas, castles and boutique hotels. Paradiso expects to cross a turnover of about Rs 100 crore during three years of operations.
