Meet on child rights inaugurated

Kolkata, Sept. 13

A State-level consultation for the Country Report to the United Nations’ Committee on the Rights of the Child was inaugurated here on Wednesday by the West Bengal Minister for Health and Family Welfare and Panchayat, Dr Surjya Kanta Mishra, says a press release. The two-day consultation aims at seeking the views of a cross-section of society on the progress towards implementation of the provisions of the Convention on the Rights of the Child which was ratified by India in 1992. The meet was organised by the State Department of Women and Child Development and Social Welfare and UNICEF. —
