Eastern Rly earnings rise

Kolkata, Sept. 14

The earnings of Eastern Railway has increased to Rs 1,061.32 crore during April to August 2007 from Rs 1,004.32 crore earned during the corresponding period of last year, says a press release. Of this, Rs 433.42 crore was earned from passenger traffic, Rs 567.10 crore from goods traffic, Rs 45.85 crore from other coaching, and Rs 14.95 crore from sundries. —
