Software Industry & Economy - SSI Mid-size cos prefer tech customisation: Study “Midsize customers have big expectations for customisation which are often tempered by restrictions of time, budget, power and staff.” Our Bureau Bangalore, Sept. 14 Customisation is top on the requests list by mid-size firms looking to adopt technology in India. According to research conducted by Hewlett-Packard, two-thirds of mid-size businesses want technology offerings that meet their needs and are created just for them. In addition, almost 90 per cent of senior business and technology executives at midsize companies say their company is doing more with less, by using technology, according to the “HP Mid-Market Business Technology Study,” conducted in August. “Midsize customers have big expectations for customisation which are often tempered by restrictions of time, budget, power and staff. “With these solutions, HP enables these businesses to take advantage of the benefits that a bladed infrastructure delivers. HP’s new suite of solutions caters specifically to the unique needs of midsize and growing businesses in India,” said Mr Hemant Tiwari, Director, Enterprise Server & Storage, Technology Solutions Group, HP India, at the launch of “Shorty,” a compact BladeSystem c3000 enclosure for smaller technology sites, branch offices and remote locations. New productsThe new products, backed by a set of HP Care Pack services, expand HP’s Adaptive Infrastructure portfolio, which helps customers reap the benefits of an infrastructure tailored to meet their business requirements. The c3000 reduces the time and cost it takes to deploy new business applications, with a power and cooling savings of up to 30 per cent; storage-area networking (SAN) connection costs reduced up to 60 per cent and cabling reduced by up to 94 per cent. The rack-based c3000 features a compact 10.5-inch-high design that fits up to eight blades, plugs into a standard 110 or 220-volt wall outlet and provides easy-to-connect networking.
