Indian crude basket touches $75.30 a barrel

New Delhi, Sept 14 The Indian crude basket touched an all-time high of $75.30 a barrel on Thursday, beating the previous high of $75.20 on August 8 last year. The basket averaged $73.12 per barrel this month as against $69.03 per barrel in the previous month.

According to industry sources, the under recoveries suffered by the State-owned oil marketing companies (OMCs) for selling petroleum products below the cost price is expected to go up in September if the trend continues. Currently, petrol is being sold at a loss of Rs 2.20 per litre while diesel is priced Rs 4.40 a litre below the cost. The under realisation on sale of PDS kerosene was Rs 15 per litre and Rs 185 on sale of every LPG cylinder.
