Economy Agri-Biz & Commodities - Commodities Inflation rate at 99-week low Our Bureau New Delhi, Sept. 14 After riding high for the better part of the year, a dip in prices of manufactured products and some food items brought down the inflation rate to 3.52 per cent for the week-ended September 1, a 99-week low. The downturn was in keeping with the trend for the past few weeks which saw the annual rate of inflation coming down to 3.79 per cent for the preceding week. The week-ended September 1 saw inflation in manufactured products plummeting to its lowest levels in the last one year, while some primary articles, including food items, also witnessed a fall in prices. Inflation rate in manufactured products came down to 4.09 per cent during the latest week (4.27 per cent for week ended August 25). Inflation in the primary articles’ group, increased a tad to 8.59 per cent (8.56 per cent), but some items in the list such as eggs, spices and moong dal were lower than in earlier weeks.
