Outlook Tally India looking at Rs 200-cr biz Our Bureau Hyderabad, Sept. 17 Tally (India) Private Ltd, a business accounting and inventory management software solution provider, is looking at a business of Rs 200 crore, with exports and education initiatives contributing 20 per cent each. Addressing a press conference here on Monday, Mr Shoaib Ahmed, Vice-President (Sales – South Asia), said the new edition (Tally 9) was targeted at small business enterprises, offering them a variety of language options. Mr Ahmed, who was here in connection with launch of Pragati (earn-while-you-learn programme) in Andhra Pradesh, said there was a huge demand for skilled people in the accounts and finance sector. Quoting a Deliotte study, he said the requirement was for two million professionals by the year 2009 as against 1.1 million in 2008. “The figure for 2003 was 65,000,” he said. While involving the students in demand generation for Tally 9, the earn-while-you-learn programme would let them get an international certificate from the Institute of Certified Bookkeepers of the UK and a four-month real-time training and internship certificate from Tally.
