Railways States - West Bengal S-E Railway’s nostalgic run Kolkata, Sept. 19 South-Eastern Railway organised a nostalgic run of the steam locomotive between Kharagpur-Hijli-Kharagpur on Tuesday to give the feel of the old steam days to a new generation. The Consul-General of Myanmar, the Deputy High Commissioner of Bangladesh and IAF officers from Kalaikunda were present, says a press release. The 235-tonne Beyer Garratt locomotive made its maiden journey around 1927 for the Bengal Nagpur Railway and retired in 1970. — Our Bureau More Stories on : Railways | West Bengal
