New Projects States - West Bengal HCL Info to set up systems integration hub in Kolkata Our Bureau Kolkata, Sept.19 HCL Infosystems Ltd plans to set up a major systems integration hub in Kolkata. The State Government has allotted 1.5 acres of land at Nonadanga for the project, which will be implemented in the next 8-12 months, according to Mr Ajai Chowdhry, Chairman and CEO of HCL Infosystems Ltd. The likely investment on the project is being worked out currently. Chandigarh projectSpeaking to newspersons on the sidelines of “ICT East 2007” seminar organised here by the Confederation of Indian Industry (Eastern Region), Mr Chowdhry said the company is keen to seize business opportunities in the systems integration consultancy space. The idea was to set up 4-5 such facilities across the country over a period of time. Work on one such project in Chandigarh had already begun. Mr Chowdhry said the systems integration hub in Kolkata would engage 800-1,000 people who would deliver systems integration consultancy services to the company’s customers in the region. For its consulting business, HCL already engages around 400 professionals. While the company was already providing systems integration consultancy in domains such as telecom, power, e-governance and banking & insurance, it had identified scope for such work in new verticals such as media and entertainment, retail, railways, airports, ports and healthcare. New orderHCL Infosystems had bagged an order from BSNL Kolkata for setting up a large systems integration project that envisages the setting up of a call data record-based single invoice billing system, he said.
