People V. Trivedi to head AI Express Our Bureau New Delhi, Sept. 20 Low cost airline Air India Express is to be headed by the former Chairman and Managing Director of Indian and current Joint Managing Director of Air India, Mr V. Trivedi. This is part of the reorganisation of positions done after the board of the National Aviation Company of India Ltd (NACIL) was formally set up. It has now been decided that the MRO strategic business unit (SBU) for airframes and engines and components would be set up in Mumbai and Delhi, respectively. The organisation structure would be headed by the Chairman and Managing Director, Mr V. Thulasidas, and would include the Joint Managing Director, heads of strategic business units and heads of corporate functions in the corporate services group (CSG). A three-tier governance structure that includes the Board of Directors, group management committee and strategic business unit management committee has been set up to manage the company. The CSG would have the overall responsibility of setting down policy, reviewing and giving approval of SBUs’ finances and operational goal, accountability for company’s and its performance, rules relating to transfer pricing and overall co-ordination across the SBUs.
