CII to organise Excon in Bangalore

Hyderabad, Sept. 20 The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) is organising Excon 2007, India’s largest and only focused construction equipment and construction technology trade fair, in association with Indian Earthmoving & Construction Industry Association Ltd (IECIAL), at Bangalore between November 14-18.

Addressing a press conference here on Tuesday, Mr S.K. Mittra, Co-Chairman, Excon 2007, Vice-President (Construction & Mining) L& T Ltd, said the exhibition serves as a one-stop shop for construction equipment and related spares, accessories in the country. It also features live demonstrations of latest developments and advancements in construction equipment and technologies.

Apart from this, Excon 2007 is also organising a global/group CEO’s session and an international conference on construction equipment industry. The Group CEO’s session on ‘Indian construction equipment industry: Prospects & opportunities’ will be held on November 14. The theme will be construction equipment industry as a facilitator to India’s infrastructure growth – Challenges and opportunities for the next decade.

Mr Mittra said the International Conference on Construction Equipment Industry with the theme: Present scenario & challenges ahead, will be held between November 15-17.

Excon will have the participation of international delegates - CEOs from around 16 countries are expected to take part in the event. There will be international pavilions from Germany, the UK, South Korea, Italy and China.

As a part of Excon 2007, CII and IECIAL will be releasing a report on ‘The Construction Industry in India’.
