Petroleum States - Kerala MRPL to set up Rs 5 cr stock depot in Kerala The company is also planning to open retail outlets under the brand name ‘HiQ’. Our Bureau Thiruvananthapuram, Sept. 21 Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals Ltd (MRPL) is expanding operations into Kerala and will shortly open a stock point at Kinfra park in Kasaragod. The 750-kl depot, being set up with an investment of Rs. 5 crore, will supply petrol, diesel and bitumen, among other things, to the Kerala market, according to MRPL officials. The company was also planning to open retail outlets under the brand name ‘HiQ’ in the State, they told newsmen here. They said that the company’s direct marketing had grown in leaps and bounds with domestic sales reaching Rs 1,908 crore in 2006-07, which represented an increase of 35 per cent from Rs. 1,411 crore in the previous year. For retail sales, the company would open 15 outlets by the end of the current financial year. performance awardMRPL received the Jawaharlal Nehru Centenary Award for energy performance, which is given to Indian refineries by the Centre for High Technology (CHT) of the Union Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas. The company has won the first prize for energy performance consecutively for the fourth time.
