Samsung ties up with Armani

New Delhi, Sept. 24

Samsung Electronics has tied up with lifestyle design company Giorgio Armani. The alliance would involve Giorgio Armani to contribute in terms of aesthetic design for Samsung’s portable products. The new products would be distributed in consumer electronics stores and through Giorgio Armani’s retail network. “This partnership will match design with technology to ensure performance to satisfy the consumer demand for style and simplicity in portable and hom e entertainment products and will enable both partners to reach new audiences and further connect with existing ones,” said Mr Jong-Yong Yun, Vice-Chairman of Samsung Electronics. While the first jointly developed product was showcased at the Milan Fashion Week on Monday, Giorgio Armani-Samsung mobile phones would be available in selected outlets and boutiques from November 2007, said a company statement. Both the companies would unveil a LCD television in January next year.
