KPIT gains entry into JasPar

Our Bureau

Pune, Sept. 24 KPIT Cummins Infosystems Ltd, one of the members of AUTOSAR(AUTomotive Open System Architecture), has today joined JasPar (Japan Automotive Software Platform Architecture), a consortium of automotive manufacturers and suppliers working together to develop and establish a standard Japan Automotive Platform Architecture.

Mr. Kishor Patil, Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director, KPIT Cummins, said it was the first and the only Indian company which has become part of the Japan-based consortium. He noted that JasPar aims to contribute to development of global standards, to evolve and enable standardisation of communication in the areas of auto & electronic software.

JasPar was formed by leading Japanese automotive companies including Honda, Nissan Toyota Motor Corp, Denso and Toyota Tsusho Electronics.

The membership is granted after the candidate company has met stringent qualification criteria and has sought endorsement from a core group member. He noted that KPIT Cummins could now use JasPar specifications to develop tools in compliance with JasPar standards for the Japan automotive market.

He said JasPar membership enabled access to technology development requirements of participating OEMs as well as preferential access to the outcome of the joint development. It had recently began its partnership with Renesas.
