Ranal Group unveils Web management tool in India

L.N. Revathy

Coimbatore, Sept. 24 CAMeLEAN, a Web-based programme management software, has been introduced by the US-headquartered Ranal Group in India.

Explaining the uniqueness of CAMeLEAN, Mr P. Rameshchandra, Managing Director of Ranal operations in India, said “organisations need to plan meticulously for setting up Greenfield projects or expanding existing operations, merging two entities or foraying into new line of business. Implementation and execution of the planned proposal, the cost overrun and the time to implement are issues that are discussed at various meetings/forums.

“The next generation managers would need a combination of technical, business management and project management skills. While academic institutions hire students off campus with technical and management capability, they need to train the recruits on project management. Such skills are lacking in big corporates, not only here but in China too.” Justifying the roll out of such a solution, he said it aimed to create the right environment by collaborating the process and management.

Mobile platform

CAMeLEAN works on Windows, Linux and Unix platforms and supports four foreign languages such as Japanese, Chinese, French and German. “We will soon be offering it on mobile platform too,” he said. To a query on the need for such a solution, he said “corporations today work in multiple time zones and team collaboration across geographies is essential in project management.”

While taking the usual route of marketing CAMeLEAN through re-sellers, Ranal has tied up with academic institutes as well to provide relevant exposure to the student community. It has joined hands with PSG College of Technology in Coimbatore to promote Program Management. The PSG-Ranal MoU is next only to its tie-up with Symbiosis Institute. “We plan to cover the industrial pockets in this country and tie up with at least 5-10 academic institutions this year.”
