Pre-placement offers begin at IIMB

Our Bureau

Bangalore, Sept. 25 Talent hunt has already begun at IIMB. The Class of 2008 comprising 254 students in the post-graduate programme in management at the institute have started receiving pre-placement offers (PPOs) from Day Zero companies. PPOs are offers for final placement made to students based on their performance during the summer internship at a company after the first year of the management programme.

Companies that have made PPOs include leading consulting firms (McKinsey, Boston Consulting Group, Bain & Co, AT Kearny), investment banks (Goldman Sachs, HSBC, Lehman Brothers, JP Morgan, Merrill Lynch) and marketing companies such as HUL, P&G and Marico for students across various locations.

Sources at the institute said that around 70 PPOs have already been made and many companies are still in the process of evaluating students and so ‘offers are still pouring in.’
