Procure more, AP Dairy told

Hyderabad, Sept. 25 The Andhra Pradesh Government has asked the AP Dairy Development Cooperative Federation to increase milk procurement to 15 lakh litres a day by March 2009.

The cooperative sector is expected to cross the 12-lakh litres a day by the end of the current financial year.

Addressing a review meeting of the Animal Husbandry Department here, the Chief Minister, Dr Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy, directed the officials to ensure that cattle brought from other States are insured and that they are free from diseases.
