Outlook JCB set to expand product portfolio Mayur N Shah Mumbai, Sept. 26 JCB India, the 100 per cent subsidiary of JCB, is set to expand its product portfolio in its existing range of excavators and add new equipment for the domestic industry. The company, which has an existing range of excavators in the eight-tonne, 20-tonne plus category, will now introduce a 14-tonne excavator model that is suitable for certain applications, said Mr Amit Gossain, General Manager – Marketing, JCB India. It has recently introduced road compactors (soil) known as JCB Vibromax —VM115; the asphalt version of the same compactor would be introduced shortly in three months, he added. Telescopic handlesBesides these products, JCB is about to introduce telescopic handles; its arm can be extended from 7-11meters. It is very useful for real estate construction. Introducing these equipment will help the company cater to a wide variety of construction and mining equipment for the local industry, said Mr Vipin Sondhi, Managing Director, JCB India. The company currently has excavators, backhoe loaders, skid steer loaders and wheel loaders as part of its existing product portfolio. They cater to various industries like irrigation, mining, and housing. With the introduction of new models, the company expects a 25- 30 per cent growth. It is currently working with Automotive Research Association of India to cater to forthcoming emission norms like Bharat Stage II for certain equipment vehicles that are likely to be available from October 1. These equipment will be on display at the forthcoming EXCON exhibition for the construction and mining equipment industry that is going to be held at the Bangalore International Exhibition Centre (November 14-18, 2007).
