Samsung hopes to strike it rich with festive sales

Kolkata, Sept. 27 Samsung India hopes to generate sales of Rs 1,200 crore during the ensuing festival season. Of this, the eastern region is expected to account for Rs 140 crore, according to Mr R. Zutshi, Deputy Managing Director.

The company today announced its festival season offerings extending from September 29, to November 10. While the offers in the eastern region would be available from September 29, those applicable to the rest of the country can be availed of from October 10. The total value of assured gifts for different categories of products during the festival promo period would be around Rs 35 crore.

Addressing newspersons here, Mr Zutshi said the company expects to sell 5.5 lakh colour TV sets including, 50,000 flat panel TVs, during the promotion period. CTV sales in eastern India are expected to be of the order of one lakh units.

Samsung today launched the “Easy View” range of Flat TVs that have been specially developed for the Indian market. The Easy View range would be available across the 21-inch and 29-inch screen categories, both in ultra/slim and regular flat series. The Easy View range is priced between Rs 10,000 and Rs 22,500.

The company also launched a range of high-end refrigerators, including the ‘Quatro Cooling Refrigerator’, and four semi-automatic washing machine models.
