New Delhi, Sept 27

The Government plans to introduce a Bill for a new company law in the Winter session of Parliament, the Corporate Affairs Minister, Mr Prem Chand Gupta, has said.

Addressing the National Convention on Investor Awareness, Mr Gupta said that the new company law would strike a fine balance between freedom and accountability. “It (new company law) will provide for a much better and stronger mechanism for protecting the interests of the investors. The Bill is in final stages of preparation and we hope to introduce it in the coming winter session of Parliament”, Mr Gupta said.

The Minister also launched a new Web site www.iepf.gov.in for the benefit of investors.
